- I LOVE WHAT I DO -
My interest in becoming accredited as a celebrant was sparked after planning my own wedding in South Africa.
I had wanted something different from the conventional wedding ceremonies we are all used to and something that would honour the pairing of a tango-dancing Irish woman and her South African husband-to-be. We decamped to the bush in hot sunshine. Everyone wore shades of white. A splash of colour arrived in the form of a traditional wedding blanket. Poems by Rosenstock were threaded through the ceremony and an African choir provided the music. Lions prowled in the trees nearby, although we only discovered that detail the next day when a tracker confirmed their lurking presence. That was probably for the best!
Needless to say, a celebrant was involved and he ensured we experienced a perfect and unforgettable wedding. It wasn’t just a marriage between a couple; it was a union of two very individual customs and traditions.
I want you to have a similar experience – without the lions, of course.
At its heart, a celebration is all about enhancing your own inner happiness and sense of contentment. A celebration relies on mutual respect, honesty and a willingness to be there for one another. It can take whatever form you want.
Since being accredited as a celebrant, I strive to be the best I can be at creating a celebration that is unique to each couple.
When you select me to be your celebrant I will organise a relaxed meeting between us – either face-to-face or on Skype – to find out what it is you both desire for your special day. I will guide you through the entire ceremony and ensure that it is tailored to your needs. I will also find out more about who you are and how you met each other so that I can compose your love story.
Following our initial meeting, I will continue to keep in contact with you through emails and phone calls. My professional service to you will result in an agreed, bespoke ceremony well in advance of your wedding day.
Above all, I will be by your side until you say, “I do.”
